A Whole Load of Contents

The 7-Day Back Pain Cure book is packed with lots of information, spread over some 250+ pages spanning 33 chapters. It is organized neatly and logically into 3 parts that address the following:

  • Part I: The Hidden Causes of Back Pain (9 chapters)
  • Part II: Solutions for a Pain-Free Life (10 chapters)
  • Part III: Pain Relief Action Plans (14 chapters)

With 9 or more chapters in each part, it makes for a lot of reading. To get the most benefit, Parts I and II should be read in entirety, followed by selected chapters in Part III that covers your specific pain conditions.

The 7-Day Back Pain Cure preface

It Starts With A Story…

Surprisingly, the book starts on a softer note, that of a man (yup, that’s Jesse) asking a woman out. It turned out that he later married this same woman, Maria, but not before his episode with pain (not the sort inflicted by romance) that led to his ultimate discovery of how to cure back pain.

In the preface, Jesse recounted how he thought he had injured his knee while doing long-distance running with Maria. He consulted multiple doctors, chiropractors and orthopedic surgeons but their usual treatment of cortisone shots and painkillers were to no avail. He almost went for the last resort: surgery.

But fate would have it another way. Jesse met a knee expert during a seminar who examined him and told him there wasn’t a knee problem. The expert explained to Jesse his muscles on both sides of his body were out of balance. And he recommended a stretch to even out the difference in muscle flexibility.

Fast forward 7 days — Jesse’s knee pain was gone and he had no need for surgery. Weeks on, his “lost” his back pain and scoliosis problems too. When Jesse discovered mainstream medicine did not consider muscle imbalances ahead of drug treatment, he took it upon himself to develop his “Muscle-Balance Therapy” to help others suffering from pain.

In short, that’s how Jesse became well known for his natural pain relief solutions, through the years of helping more than 50,000 people get real pain relief. (Revelation: Jesse admitted he put off, for quite a few years, teaching other people how to self-treat muscle imbalance because as a personal trainer, he wasn’t qualified to do so.)

The Hidden Causes of Back Pain

The 7-Day Back Pain Cure part I

This first part of three opens with the chapter on back pain mistakes most people make. Seven are presented, including: continuing a treatment that doesn’t work; thinking you’re too fit to have back pain; and treating only the symptoms.

The next two chapters discuss why pain is only a symptom and debunks 6 common back pain myths.

Following this, learn about the two types of pain:

  1. Nerve-based pain
    – Often felt as a burning, tingling or similar sensation, or like “pins and needles”
    – Caused by nerves being pinched or compressed by a nearby muscle or bone
  2. Tissue-based pain
    – Linked to trigger points in the body
    – Partially caused by pooling of toxins in muscle tissue
    – Underlying cause is diet imbalance, negative stress or actual muscle damage

Next, the hidden causes of all back pain are revealed — they revolve around the 3 notions of “too much”, “too little” and “too slow”. These tie in with the need to maintain a delicate balance in the body, mind and diet to avoid pain. The following 3 chapters go in depth to discuss each of these components of the balance, filling up a whopping 50 pages in all!

The closing chapter in Part I discusses how the body, mind and diet interact and why pain has to be dealt with by considering all three components. It sets the stage for the next part on solutions available to enjoy a pain-free life.

Solutions for A Pain-Free Life

The 7-Day Back Pain Cure part II

Part II starts by examining why most back pain treatments fail, revealing how the different healthcare specialists — medical doctor, orthopedic specialist, chiropractor, physical therapist, acupuncturist and massage therapist — usually fall short in treating pain.

It then prescribes short-term pain relief to get the pain sufferer well enough to implement permanent solutions for a pain-free life.

Short-term or temporary pain relief involves the use of anti-inflammation enzyme supplements, pain relief creams, ice and (far infrared) heat, and supporting devices. Eating healthily, breathing in a relaxed manner and being up and about instead of lying in bed are good methods too. Also useful are exercise and healing arts like Qigong and Bowen Therapy.

Lifestyle changes that help eliminate pain are discussed next, with numerous tips like making the work place and car seat posture-friendly, limiting use and height of high heels (for the ladies) and using the body symmetrically. The topics of sleeping without pain and how to travel pain-free are covered as well.

The next 3 chapters present the main treatments proven to give lasting pain relief:

  • Muscle-Balance Therapy
  • Trigger-Point Therapy
  • Inversion Therapy

They explain what each treatment is about, how to use it and what solutions are out there in the market. With just Muscle-Balance Therapy and/or Trigger-Point Therapy, complete pain relief for nerve- or muscle-based pain — due to tight, inflamed, overworked and knotted muscles — can be expected.

This part ends appropriately with 2 chapters dedicated to balancing the emotional state of mind and nutrition. Four tips on handling stress and the emotional aspect of pain are given, with emphasis on taking ownership of pain rather than being the victim. Another four cover the need for hydration and vitamins, plus how to reduce inflammation in the body.

Pain Relief Action Plans

The 7-Day Back Pain Cure part III

This final part of The 7-Day Back Pain Cure book shows how to treat 8 different back pain conditions:

  • Lower back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Upper back pain
  • Scoliosis
  • Neck pain
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Herniated disc
  • Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction

It starts off with the structure of a 7-day action plan that involves a layered approach to pain relief. Emphasis is placed on understanding the underlying causes of back pain, measuring the progress in treating it and adding or subtracting treatments to get that right combination which works well for the individual.

Next are generic treatment options — muscle-balance therapy, trigger-point therapy and spinal decompression — with mention of suitable products. Also covered are the topics of emotional troubleshooting and dietary adjustments, as well as other treatment options such as Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM), Prolozone Therapy and Stem Cell Treatment.

The following chapters focus on 8 targeted action plans plus a general one that tackles other pain conditions not covered. Each action plan details the specifics of a pain condition with recommended treatments for both temporary and long-term pain relief.

The book concludes with an overview of related products marketed by The Healthy Back Institute, a recommended reading list and lastly, Jesse’s biography.
